Brymbo Steelworks
Exhibition design
The historic steelworks which closed in the early 90's was the centre of the community in the village of Brymbo, near Wrexham. As part of a team from Glyndwr University, we designed exhibition branding, signs and displays in order for the steelworks to be viewed by the public.
The modern white and orange branding is designed to contrast well with the ageing structure, borrowing its colour scheme from the building's interior. The huge archive of photos, videos and objects were arranged into a timeline, beginning with 300 million year old fossils and ending with the last ever piece of metal to be cast when the steelworks closed.
We also set up a video projector in an old tool sharpening shed (pictured below).
